Vesomo — Privacy Policy — Trofimov Online

This Privacy Policy describes how the Vesomo app (formerly ScalePlate; the “App”), developed by Denis Trofimov (the “Developer,” “we”), handles your data. In short: the App works fully on your device without an account. If you choose to create an account, the data you log is synced through our server so it is available on your other devices and, if you join one, to your family. You can export your data and delete your account from inside the App at any time.

1. Using the App Without an Account

An account is optional. Without one, everything you create in the App — food diary entries, recipes, custom products, portion presets, body measurements, goals, workouts and your profile — is stored only on your device, and none of it is sent to us.

2. Account and Cloud Sync

If you create an account, we store on our server:

Account data: your e-mail address; a hashed password if you sign up with e-mail (we never store the password itself); and, if you use Sign in with Apple, the identifier Apple assigns to you for the App and a token Apple issues, which we keep encrypted and use only to revoke the App’s access when you delete your account. If you choose to hide your e-mail, Apple gives us a private relay address instead of your real one.
Profile: sex, date of birth, height, activity level, goal and daily calorie target — the inputs the App uses to compute your calorie budget.
The data you log: food diary entries, recipes and their ingredients, custom products, portion presets, body measurements (such as weight and circumferences, and the energy values described in section 4), metric goals, workout programs and logged workouts.
Sign-in sessions: a random identifier of each device you sign in on, and the tokens that keep you signed in.

We use this data only to provide sync — to keep your data in step across your devices and your family. We do not sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it for any other purpose. Data travels between the App and our server over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).

If you create or join a family, the products, recipes and portion presets you share with it, and the meals you log in the family diary, are visible to the other members of that family. Family members also see each other’s account e-mail address in the member list. Leaving the family stops sharing; what you already added to the family library stays with the family.

4. Apple Health

If you allow it, the App reads your active and resting energy from Apple Health to show the calories you burn, and writes your weight to Health so its own estimates stay accurate. The daily energy totals read from Health are stored in the App as body measurements. If you are signed in, they are synced through our server like your other measurements (section 2), so they appear on your other devices. Health data is never used for advertising or marketing and is never shared with third parties. You can change or revoke the App’s access at any time in the Health app.

5. Bluetooth

The App connects to a compatible kitchen scale or body scale over Bluetooth LE to read weight and to send tare and calibration commands. This communication is strictly between your device and the scale. A reading is stored only once you use it — for example, as a diary portion or a body measurement.

6. Camera

The App can use your device’s camera to scan product barcodes when you add a custom product. The camera is used only while you are actively scanning. Images are processed on your device to read the barcode and are not stored or transmitted.

7. Downloaded Content

Some content, such as the food database, the exercise catalog and an on-device search model, is downloaded from our server when you install or update it. These downloads carry no personal data. Food search runs entirely on your device.

8. AI Assistant Connection (Optional)

You can connect an AI assistant that supports the Model Context Protocol to your account. You sign in and approve the connection yourself; the assistant can then add custom products to your account. Anything you give the assistant is handled by its provider under that provider’s own privacy policy. Deleting your account ends the connection.

9. Export and Account Deletion

Export. In Account → Export data you can save everything stored in the App to files: your diary as a spreadsheet (CSV) and all other data as JSON. This works with or without an account.

Deletion. In Account → Delete account you can permanently delete your account. After you confirm it’s you (with your password, or with Sign in with Apple), we delete your account and all your personal data from our server, including your sign-in sessions and any AI assistant connection, and revoke the App’s Sign in with Apple access. If you are in a family, you leave it and the meals you logged in the family diary are removed for all members; products, recipes and portion presets you added to the family library stay with the family. The data on your device is not affected and keeps working without an account. You can also ask us to delete your account by e-mail (see section 13).

10. Third-Party Analytics and Advertising

The App does not use third-party analytics services, advertising networks, crash-reporting tools, or any other SDKs that collect or transmit data about you. Like any internet service, our server necessarily receives your device’s IP address when the App connects to it; we do not use it to identify you or to build a profile of you.

11. Children’s Data

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The current version is always available at this address, and the date of the most recent update is shown at the top of the document.
